Lowheart's Country-Pop-Rock track "Had Me at Hello" has been added to rotation, as a highlighted track, on online country radio station It's My Country, to be played four times daily for the week starting Thursday 16th July 2020. The song is taken from Lowheart's Alt-Country album "Long Hard Road", and can be downloaded or streamed on all major platforms. The track was also recently featured on the Lowheart compilation playlist "A Slab of Lowheart" on Spotify and YouTube. The "Long Hard Road" album also featured "Crossroads Again", a track that originally saw the light of day during the duo's previous incarnation as Wilful Damage - the video of which can be viewed on YouTube and was screened on NuCountry TV. "Had Me at Hello", and the Long Hard Road album in general, provide an excellent counter-point to the hard-edged rock that makes up a majority of Lowheart's recorded output.

Lowheart have just released their first compilation, a 24-track playlist album entitled "A Slab of Lowheart" - launched in May 2020 via Spotify and YouTube Music. Sub-titled "Lowheart Essentials", the playlist represents a Best of Lowheart so far, encompassing tracks from across their four studio albums released between 2015 and 2019. Focussing on the duo's most commercial and accessable songs, "A Slab of Lowheart" provides an excellent cross-section of their recorded output, and showcases their variety of styles including hard rock, classic rock, country rock, and several diverse ballads. Among the tracks featured are video singles "Crossroads Again", "Own Sweet Time", and "Trash Like You", radio favourites "Kicked To The Curb" and "Blowin' a Fuse", and two songs that have forthcoming music videos currently in production: "Rat on a Wheel" and "Some Kinda Love".

Lowheart's hard rocking new album "Rock Du Jour" is close to completion, and scheduled for worldwide release, on Rat Wheel Records, in the third quarter of 2020. "Rock Du Jour" is Lowheart's heaviest release yet, taking up where their 2015 debut set "Act On Impulse" left off, and upping the ante even further - with an aggressive feel, incorporating hard rock, punk, and metal influences. The album is brimming with punchy, fist-pumping anthems - strong on memorable hooks, driving riffs, searing guitar solos, and fiery vocals.

Here's a taste of what's to come!

The album's track list has been finalised, and is as follows:

  1. Go To Hell

  2. Redback

  3. Blow My Time

  4. Gun To My Head

  5. Get Out Of My Way

  6. Violence In Your Blood

  7. I Don't Know Who You Are

  8. Run For The Law

  9. Suckerpunch

  10. Down Town

  11. Do What You Want

  12. Skyscraper

  13. Waste Of Space

  14. The Only Thing

Recorded simultaneously with "Rock Du Jour" is a second new album, entitled "The Catharsis Files", which is in a completely different style and vein altogether. If "Rock Du Jour" takes the hard-edged rock of "Act on Impulse" to its extreme, then "Catharsis" takes the stripped-back country-tinged and rootsy folk sounds on "Long Hard Hard" (2015) to ITS extreme. "Catharsis" features sparse, raw arrangements, with intensely personal and emotional lyrics, creating as concept albums of sorts, around the theme of relationship breakdown. The songs are tied together with a loose story arc, and the instrumental features interplay between the acoustic rhythm guitar, and the mostly electric lead breaks.  Prolific songwriters that they are, any other new Lowheart material is being compiled into a third new album, "Sleeping Dogs Bite", and several tracks have already been recorded with that set in mind. These are songs that fit neither with the flat-out full-throttle hard rock of "Rock Du Jour", nor the sparse acoustic style of "Catharsis". "Sleeping Dogs Bite" will follow in the Classic Rock vein of "Gravel or Gold", with the usual Hard Rock, Pop Rock, Country, and Blues influences, along with several ballads and progressive moments. "Sleeping Dogs Bite" should be released some time in 2021.
